"Argentin tango music explained to dancers and musicians"

Summary of the conferences given by the Orquesta Típica Imperial of Buenos Aires.

Transcription, translation, summary by Pierre Canals. During their tours, musicians from Orquesta Típica Imperial give conferences to explain the characteristics of tango music.

They speak there about things as current as badly known like the arrastre, the yumba, the coral or the particular technique of staccato passage to violin, tango way.

The text, collected during four conferences, without claiming to replace them, seems to us worthy to be diffused because it presents a point of view from musicians, a lighting on the tango which we rarely have the occasion to share with those who make this music.

The dancers will find there very concrete indications to integrate a better knowledge of the musician n the practice of the dance and invaluable tracks to exert their initiative in the improvisation.

The musicians, curious or who wish to initiate themselves with this music, will discover aspects little known which leave usual formalizations. A booklet of 24 pages, two-tone, published by Plaisir Tango of Nancy in partnership with the Arts Center Andre Malraux, National Scene of Vandoeuvre.
